A plea to Stewart....

A plea to Stewart....

Hi Stewart,

Like you I'm proud of The Police's history and where the band has come from.I'm writing to you to see if you exert your influence and get a gig in Scotland.
To date despite requests on Policetour.com,Sting.com the response has been well ...er a polite NO.

Glasgow as you'll recall was one of the first places where the band really made it big anywhere and the gigs at the Glasgow Apollo are still legendary today.
In '83 Sting did say 'its the best gig in Britain - Lets go' - well there's no dates for Scotland!!!

Come on matey I'd bet it'd be the best gig of the tour - parting with the Jocks - how great would that be/is that?

Not many can afford the 500 mile trip to Manchester the most 'local' gig
- Go on you know it makes sense!

How can The Police go on tour again and not play Scotland? - its inconceivable isn't it!

(Funnily enough U2 also almost 'forgot' Scotland but made amends at the last mo on the Vertigo tour).

Your hopefully,

Don't lose hope just yet, Steve (and Scotland). They're still adding dates, and the European leg still has quite a few holes in it. Like Gio has said, there are a lot of details and red tape to get through in order to make the tour schedule.

(Hell, even all of the North American dates haven't been officially announced yet (eg., Virgin is still MIA).)

Remember that TPT's job isn't to tell the truth -- it's to make official announcements. They've said "no" to a lot of things that have turned into "yes."
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

well said steve. as a fellow scot it's really annoying that for whatever reason we don't seem to get our own police gig. Hampden would fill up in a minute if you guys played there.

I'm a London girl myself but I feel for the Scots.....
I can afford to travel, but I know lots can't.

I know the guys need a bit of a rest but there doesn't seem to be any dates between Oct 19th in Europe and Nov 8th in Toronto (unless I have it wrong?)

So Scots unite (and keep your fingers crossed!!!)

Where would be warm and practicable for a October date?

You know Stewart reads his forums......

Be positive!!!
