Fans,

In May 1979, The Police performed at Madam Wong's (in Los Angeles) and it was broadcast on KXLU in Los Angeles. It featured an incredible version of Message in a Bottle.

The show now sits in the KXLU vaults...UNTIL NOW (hopefully). Please send an email to Justin Bates (KXLU general manager) requesting KXLU rebroadcast this show in the wake of The Police reunion tour.

Sent an email along with the rationale that Police fans definitely and desperately need something new in the next few upcoming weeks waiting for the tour to start!

I hope there are not the usual legal difficulties...I am not clear on the nature and status of "broadcasts" of this sort...but here's hoping that it will be done!

Guys,

Thanks for continuing to email KXLU your request to rebroadcast this show. Please if you have not yet sent KXLU an email or called in to request the show, do so before Thursday.

We'll be calling into the radio station Thursday to see if the response was great enough to get the show rebroadcast.

It has been confirmed, they DO have this show in their vaults and just need a lot of motivation to play it again (last time it was broacast was May 1979).

Hi Mike, I just send a request to mister Bates!

How do you know that they played a great version of Message In A Bottle there? Is this perhaps perhaps the recording that was released as the B-side of the badge shaped picture disc (and later showed up on the 4CD-boxset "Message In A Box")?

One of the old station representatives mentioned that about"Message in a Bottle" when he listened to it.
I believe the "Message in a Bottle" live on Message in a Box was from a New York show.
