I think one of his boys is about my age, and the girls yeah I figured the oldest would be about 11.

Heh I have another off the idea wall to add...lately I've been wanting one of these things called (evidently) a 'scooter' its like a tennis skirt with shorts underneath...anyhow since I'm as broke as can be all I can afford is probably a pattern (if they are on sale for 99c this week) and I already have this tennis white poplin I can use...if I can find the right pattern and it comes out I thought it would be cool to embroider a very small gitm logo at the bottom right, like where the swoosh or adidas logo would be on sports thingys...if it happens I'll let y'all know...I haven't constructed anything in over a year and a bit <grin> Hubby making a cup of joe for me now & then it's off to JoAnn's fabrics!

How are the other DIY projects going?

Keep us posted on that logo, Gina. My mother in law has a sewing machine that'll embroider damn near whatever you want onto anything. I think it was a billion dollars, though.

I've got the front panel of the GITM bag knit and most of the bottom. It came out pretty well, although I had to go back through and duplicate-stitch Stewart's chin back in once it unraveled. ;)

(Wish I could work on it on the plane this week, but I figure security types won't want me dragging long pointy things onto an international flight...)

I am still in the construction phase of the skirt so it'll be a bit before the logo...which I am doing by hand (yes I have wanted an embroidery machine for a while...hubby even offered to get one at one point, but I couldn't spend that much $ at the time...but they are really really cool!) Can't wait to see the bag!

Where are you travelling this week, btw?...I am leaving for France tomorrow myself to visit my mom for a week...the last time I travelled with metal crochet needles was right when airport security escalated so they took mine...but for that return trip I was able to find plastic hooks in the right size and they kept me busy for the flight...perhaps that worth a try (not sure if they would work as well for knitting & I definitely prefer the weight and feel of the metal hooks personally)...I'll probably be travelling with just books this time...with the insane hope that I might actually sleep on this overnight flight...for the first time in my life :)

You lucky girls! I wanna go, too! France would be nice. But I'd like to go back to London. Was there in Nov. TOOO much to do in one week.
They have a couple of Beatle walking tours. They could do one for our Lads, too! Where everyone lived, the clubs they played etc.. That would be too cool.

I took a plastic crochet hook on a flight to work on a scarf once after the no pointy objects edict. It turned out to be quite thick. Don't know if it was because of the yarn or the hook size. :? Anywho, the person I gave to was pleased.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

Yeah that would be cool, but I doubt they'd do it before the stuff is released onto itunes.

Well, they may take away what I'm trying to carry on then...two size 1 knitting needles, but they're wooden and smaller than pencils. I do have one smallish metal crochet hook also and a small metal circular needle...It's under 10 bucks worth of gear, though, so it won't be tragic if they confiscate. Except I won't get to knit on my flight...

It's not the US to UK flight I'm dreading, tho...I hear Heathrow is just awful on the baggage restrictions on the flight back. I have one of those fishermens' vests with the zillion pockets and a pair of cargo pants, though, so I may get out of having to check delicate electronic gear.

Just London this time, Gina...We thought about France, but as neither of us has been to the UK (!) we wanted to focus on that.

(I've been to 48 out of the 50 states, including Alaska...Australia twice, New Zealand, most of the Caribbean Islands and South America, but I've never been to Europe, oddly. Guess that's fixing to change. ;))

I dunno if it's more that, or

I'm so worried about modern technology.
I'm so worried about all the things that they dump in the sea....

;)

Rumor has it there just may be a Police walking tour in the works for two of SC's faithful. Although it may just turn into us hanging out at the Hope & Anchor getting pissed...

I probably will have to visit Abbey Road. I'd go to Liverpool, if Hub were going with me and not my ma...

But surely that IS the quintessential Police walking tour!

Have a safe and uneventful flight, DM.

I'm working on that tour Dive - although 'walking' is probably out of the question... London is sort of big y'know

There's a couple of spots that are easy enough to find though and I'll bring some source material and an A-Z for further research (over a pint).

Have a safe flight Dive... I shall see you shortly!

Sounds like great fun. Have you tracked down the store where the infamous green shorts came from? Have fun and lift a pint for me! Amy
