OT - Flavor Flav...

..was just named one of the ten unsexiest men. But you know what they say about there being no such thing as bad publicity. With that thought, it's curious to see a PE-related mention in a current pop culture... thingamawhatis. The media usually ignore them, but i guess there's something to all those reality show appearances. But our hero proved that to even hardliners like me already...

I saw the PE during their Smokin' Grooves tour. They put on a good show, but the sound unfortunately was horrible, plus the experience was marked negatively by a bump in the road of social life.

They vote for the unsexiest men? Ahh that's mean.

He is ugly though, and annoying.

Who else was on the list?

"Flavor Flav is the one that make the Post money
Try to make embarrasin' headlines seem funny
Try to undress my past tho it's nekkid
Won't stop Flavor from sellin' no rekkid!"

Donald Trump was number one. I think Karl Rove and Imus were on there.

I still see it as positive that the mass media is taking more note of th PE, even if it just due to Flav's BS reality shows!

I was just watching Henry Rollins interview Chuck D the other day. It was actually a bit funny to realize just how old he is now (he's not ancient, but he's not 20 anymore either). Thanks to the passing of time, PE has become almost respectable in a Respect-Your-Elders-type way.

I don't have cable and see most of my TV by way of bootlegs, so I honestly don't know -- has the mainstream media been giving PE press because of FF's reality shows? I know FF gets press cuz of his eccentricities, but has PE been able to benefit?
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

No idea, really. I've just had a bug up the shaft about it ever since Rolling Stone put a long report in one of their issues circa 1998 listing the fifty most influential hip hop acts and omitting them as if to slap them in the face. Wouldn't have been so bad except some of the people that made their cut were just literal upstart/flash-in-the-pan types whose names i forgot five minutes after thumbing thru it.

They often do bill themselves as the Rolling Stones of rap!
