At least Copeland can say he played with the best bass player: Stanley Clark.

While Sting can say he played with the best drummer: Stewart!

Mmmm, okay Stanley Clark is excelent, but I still dunno who is the best bass player in the world.

One thing I already know is who is the best drummer in our world, now and ever.

Anyway, thanks for the link...

That's Clarke with an 'e', folks

I don't think this is from the Animal Logic shows. I'd be curious to find out when this was recorded as well.

Not the only time Stewart has played with a top-o'-the-line bassist. Had a one-time jam with Mark King of Level 42 in 1986. Unfortunately, Stewart was singing and playing guitar :-)

8) From, believe it or not, Animal Logic tour. You can see Debra Holland if you look hard in the background. I ran into this very indirectly. Had to put only name of song in youtube search then came up, "Firing Up the sunset gun" brought up 10 other copeland songs.

Anyways, anyways... it is a real joy to be associated with all of these Copeland fans. I like & enjoy Andy & stings music/ persons but Copeland is the cat's meow of a person. Take for example the footage of the 3 police members coming to the press conference at separat times. Sting & andy came in two different limos and walked quickly into building; copeland got out of a van, signed autographs in the front smiling & then walked "comfortably" into building. Go Stu.

I for one would love to see more of Stewart singing & playing guitar. But hey, him onstage any ol' way is always fine with me. :)

Well, they have different styles to face sucess. Anyway, I still preferring KK style in all senses. For me he is a Superhero but human artist that has his foot on the ground, and many of us like to walk in his music footsteps... 8)

PS. Dive your new avatar is awesome!

i was at the animal logic gig; it was at the Town and Country club (now the Forum) in Kentish Town, North London in March 1989.......

i've got a copy of the gig cos it was shown on telly as part of Mike Mansfields series which was on late night.....
if you watch the clip you might see me down the front with a stripey light green and white t-shirt (it was the 80's and i was young!)

stanley clarke is a great bass player (mark king ripped him off hugely; like note for note) but the band was to have Andy summers in it; i remember receiving the old Police File info (when fan clubs actually used to send stuff to you not just put info on the 'net) in about 1987 saying that Andy had joined Stewart for rehearsals to play in the band; i think Andy didnt get on with Stanley and so left....although they might have done one gig together in Rio De Thingy?
