On 20th May 2022 The Police Around The World will be released.

Yeah...these are the covers:
First is cd+dvd set, second is 2lp set (probably on coloured vinyls).
And it seems that it will be released on blu ray + cd set too

Format options in Police Store for pre-order. No vinyl option w/ Blu-Ray? The way I read it is you have to go DVD to get vinyl or buy both formats if you want Blu-Ray and vinyl. Am I understanding that correctly?

Update on "Around the world".
For the Japanese market only, Blu ray and DVD will contain CDs on SHM support. Blu ray and DVD are subtitled in Japanese only.
For the moment there is no mention of Japanese releases for Lps.

That's how it looks. No CD+vinyl+Bluray option. Another chance to finally get a release done proper is thwarted by bad marketing decisions.

Oh, well, I guess I should be happy that they're finally releasing it on Bluray. Now, who wants to take bets on it being stupidly cropped to 16x9 in order to look better on widescreens?

The Police around the world will be released as 2Lp + dvd set, only for north american markets, on SILVER vinyl; blue in the rest of the world.

2002? I personally believe DVD should be the standard for audio releases. DVDs are much better protected against mechanical damage from both sides, and you can put 24bit music on there, which should shut up all the audiophiles. Nothing against CDs, but there is a limitation of how much music you can squeeze on there (75 minutes or so) and the 16bit limitation forces the mixer to do some extra work to make the final result sound good. PLUS, you can just copy+paste older CD releases on DVDs and re-release that. Can you even put 16bit audio on DVDs without being put in jail?

I just wish surround sound will not be forced in such a case, I am a Stereo Man to the end.
