So, apparently "Spyro The Dragon" OST will be on Spotify

Postby ManWithGoodTaste on 08 Mar 2022 20:35

No word on it being just the first game, or all 3 games. 4th game (don't love it or hate it) had most music arranged by Stewart but composed by 2 other people.

Source is Stewart's official FB account. No word on a disk release. For anyone who wants the music right now, there are ways to extract music files from PS1 games in WAV format. It is originally compressed, but not by much. The WAV files can then be edited slightly if the bass is too much, or fade-out does not work.

It is out, and since I don't use Spotify, I cannot check if it sounds any good.

Stewart provided an update just a little while ago and said Spyro will now be coming to Spotify on May 4th which is fortunately another easy date for us old farts to remember since it is also Star Wars May the Fourth Be With You day.

Unfortunately there will be a new date of release, but no specific details.

I have no idea where this was released. Also, as I freaking knew, incomplete release. Missing 1/4 from Spyro 1, 2/3 from Spyro 2 and 2/3 from Spyro 3. Also a very disrespectful move to not credit Ryan Beveridge for certain tracks from Spyro 3.

Well well well, aren't you my savior?

Cannot wit to buy that on CD/DVD. Cannot wait to enjoy high quality stereo with good dynamic range. Cannot wait to curse at Stewart for forgetting at least 8 tracks from Spyro 1.

Youtube playlist report: Spyro 1 is missing several normal level tracks from the regular edition of the game. It is also missing 2 remixes and 2 unique tracks which sometimes play if you stay on a level for too long as a surprise (also from the regular US release). ALSO missing are 7 Europe-exclusive remixes and 1 Europe-exclusive track which you can listen to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzbGqf6C2ds

Spyro 2 is missing at least half the tracks.

Spyro 3 is missing probably 2/3, and Crystal Islands and Dino Mines have digital artifacts (something went wrong during render or conversion or upload or something).

Inclusion of 3 tracks never included in the games, and only available ON THIS VERY SITE 10 years ago, it a nice touch.

All in all, if anyone here has contact with Stewart, let that middleman speak to me regarding what is missing. I know my Spyro music.
