STEWART Funko Pop!

STEWART Funko Pop!

Postby TheEqualizer on 04 Aug 2019 18:44

Not sure if anyone here collects Funko Pop figures like me, but even if you don't you may be interested in the fact that Funko has release figures of the Police. To me, it looks like they were intended to look like they are from the ZM period, but I could be wrong. The STEWART one I got is him just standing holding sticks. However, there is a variant with him behind a blue drumset. I plan on getting that one too, but I haven't seen in it a physical store. May have to order it online.

This is Sting. Not sure if there are any variants for him. Seems like from a period earlier than ZM. Maybe Outlandos. What do you think?

Here's Andy. What period is this? GITM? Man, I don't know these things anymore. I think STEWART is the only one with a variant. Probably because he rules.

I like how they have the detail of STEWART using traditional grip.

And that version of Sting would beat the crap of the current Sting if he heard him play Desert Rose.

I wonder if there is a reference I will never get.

Correction. There is no drum kit variant. They all come with drums. You just can’t see them in the first picture. The are blocked by the packaging on the left side

Was going to ask if you took him out of the box. I don’t know why some pics have the drums right in front of him in the box but mine came with them on the side, hidden from view.

Stewart is definitely from “Walking on the Moon”. I know that Sting is wearing the same purple striped shirt in that video also but a different jacket. Can’t remember when Andy wore the white blazer. If I had to guess, I’d say the other two are also from ‘79.

I got all three at the same time through Amazon. I also got the Rush three pack.

Funko did a fantastic job. I also love how they got the quirky traditional grip correct. Interesting how the illustration on the box has a different hairstyle than the actual figure, but that is also authentic because sometimes his hair was less wavy. Also, I like how he is the only one who looks playful while Sting looks ready to hurt someone and Andy looks so dead serious. AND, of all the cymbals that could have come with the little drum kit, they included the hi hats. Someone at Funko really knows their stuff!

Hey EQ!
It's me Samburu! I got the whole set. It's weird your Stewart doesn't
have the drums with it.

You think it's weird? I think not. Funkos are cheap disposable plastic collectables, they cannot afford to add extra accessories to them.

If I was better at painting, I'd take on repainting Andy's to a more accurate sparkly purple sport coat and sunburst Telecaster.

Oh fuck. That is soooo sweet. Really reminds me of when I saw them on the Synchronicity Tour, particularly the song Synchronicity. A concert moment forever burned into my brain.
