The best idea in the universe

I think this is about time we stop waiting for weather at the sea, and do something. It is time to collectively ask Stewart to release whatever music he still has but never made public. He has many scores to his name, and at least half of those are recorded and stored somewhere he can reach (and pull out). Out of Bounds, Wide Sargasso Sea (that one leaked as MP3s), the rest of Dead Like Me, more than a couple of others.

The man may say "So what? Who cares? Nobody cares. It doesn't matter."

Well, at least a thousand people will buy copies of those albums. If you release as limited edition music from a famous artist, those usually sell out. This is not a terrible idea, but instead a very good one.

How does one ask Stewart? What mountain does he climb for inspiration, again? One of us should take a helicopter ride there and tell the man to release stuff.

I have often had this same idea. However, one has to remember that when he wrote a lot of this music, he was basically a “hired gun” and “working for The Man”, much like the composers of the eighteenth century. As such, there may be various hurdles in the form who actually owns the rights to the music. Is it the composer, the director or the studio?

Remember what a pain it was for him just to get permission to use the music that he helped make in order to create the derangements in Everyone Stares?

Just sayin’.

We're working on it with his manager and trying to find a solution. Of course you have to consider that most of the tracks were released each one with a proper publisher, so it's not as easy as you may imagine.
Publishing sometimes is a wall to climb.
But we're talking about it.

Thank you for caring, italian man!

And the rest of Dead Like Me is pretty doable methinks.

If there are more selections from Stewart's Vault, I'd like to hear some of the bits from the Breaking News series.
