What will be in the book that I don't already know?

ehehe... well, maybe there is something you still don't know... let me see... a small example: do you know when and where the Police decided to break up?
Anyway, it's not about having more news than what we already know, but a 'simple' view on their career in the light of the Reunion Tour, their solo careers (it's the only book analyzing their own careers to understand how and why they reunited), their post-reunion works and more.Well, there's a very interesting interview with Derek Power, Stewart's ex-manager and Police 'influencer' (this is how we would call him now for what he did for the band in 1983).
Only in Italian by now.

The solo careers portion seems a valuable inclusion. Equalizer & Other Cliff Hangers along with World Gone Strange are albums they MUST mention.

Sure their solo careers has a lot to do with the reunion, but at the same time they released so many cool albums travelling around different styles that are usually taken out of all the books about the band, and that's a pity!

Congratulations. Will the book be available in English? I'd love to read it.

I think I've read almost every book about the Police- Sting's bio "broken music" and the lyrics book, Andy's "One Train Later", Stewart's "Strange Things Happen," Ian's "Wild Thing" and Henry's "Secret Police Man."

I also read four other books- "Sting: Demolition Man" by Christopher Sanford, "Accompanying the Police" by Mick St. Michael, "Sting, The Illustrated Lyrics" by Roberto Gligorov and "The Police: 1978 - 1983" by Lynn Goldsmith.

Needless to say it's frustrating to listen to interviews with Steward because 99 percent of interviewers ask the same questions. I'd love to one day do a real fan interview and ask Stewart the questions no one else has asked.

I have to say that I was very disappointed that Stewart did not write in detail about the Police. He said Andy had already done that. I wanted, however, to get his perspective. (There were several excellent anecdotes in the book.) I hope one day Stewart will publish an expanded edition.

Sure, Iknow what you mean Jerseyfan; their books are biographical but in their own way, if you know what I mean; they just say what they feel like people need to know, not a 'diary' of their life, that is what probably many fans would like.
I guess it's understandable, and talking about The Police, probably most of the 'very interesting stuff' is a private thing that they don't feel like letting everybody know about.
Years ago, backstage at the Arena in Verona, I remember a nice chat with Sting and when I was trying to tell him that I liked his book, he stopped and said "you know more"!
At the same time, I spent a lot of time with Stewart talking about everything, Police stuff included, but I guess it's something that probably would be 'too dispersive'. What I tried to write in my book it's a mix of history and considerations following all the time I spent with the three of them. Maybe not too many 'exclusive news', I mean the main facts are written in any book (by the way, you will soon see a short video where I explain something about the book with images of how many books of the Police I have), but with a lot of 'thinking' about the way they decided to break up, to reunite and break up again. That's the 'key' I used to write the book, I mean not a diary, but a series of considerations that might lead to an open discussion on what The Police meant (and still mean) in the world of music.

Great points. It will be very interesting to read the perspective of somebody with your knowledge.

Speaking of books, I'm surprised that Miles Copeland has not written a book. Here's a person who was not only practically the fourth Policeman, he was also intimately involved with many of the most popular artists of the 80s and 90s. He must have hundreds of great insider stories from the who's who of the pop and rock world.

A book from Miles would be awesome from both the entertainment and business side of music.I wonder why he hasn't done it. Any ideas? Perhaps he was a non-disclosure agreement with Sting? I doubt it.

I can probably write a deep and detailed book and a documentary to accompany the book.

I guess that the situation with Miles is a little bit 'complicated'; he never showed up to a Police Reunion gig, there must be a reason I should say ... well, there is a reason for sure, but it's a very private thing I have never got too deep into.
