The main CD and Riff Tricks are FANTASTIC. And it really feels like a band where four awesome members create something greater than just the sum of its parts. I just want MORE MORE MORE! And Riff Tricks makes me feel like this is just the beginning. So many great little musical moments sprinkled through out which make it better with each listen. Can't see this band live with STEWART out front on guitar!!!

For me, the album hits its apex with "Spin This" and then "I Know Too Much" followed with a Gizmodromed derangement of a Spyro track to bring it home with "Stark Naked". I can't wait to jam out to this live and have a feeling the last three tracks are teasers for what we'll see with the next album.

Interesting that Conroy (a big Spyro fan) hears Spyro in Stark Naked. Others have heard Equalizer in it. In addition, it also relates to the Curved Air instrumental song of the same name that Stewart co-wrote that appears on the Curved Air BBC album.

I think I like Man in the Mountain and Summer's Coming most but love it all.

Great KerkKant, a very interesting 'history' of that track. I guess it can be done for almost every track included on Gizmodrome... eheheh...

From the comments section in a post by Adrian Belew on Facebook on September 29, 2017

QUOTE

I plan to make a larger contribution to record #2 in both singing and songwriting. but I hope to write things in the same vein as this first record. I love the joy.

END QUOTE

RECORD #2!!!!!!! Oh yeah!!!!!

From same comment section above:

QUOTE

[QUESTION}: So, when Gizmodrome members write songs, how do they get selected for the band? Is it a group negotiation, or does one member look them over and decide? For example, I learned out that members of my favorite jazz group, Oregon, submit songs to Ralph Towner and he decides which ones will be on the next album--which seems to work well. It's just the sort of thing I find a bit interesting.

[BELEW]: bill, so far we haven't dealt with that. almost all of this first record was written by vittorio and stewart, which is why stewart is the singer. I think it will definitely be decided by all of us together as everything else has been.

END QUOTE

I don't have the CD in front of me (I downloaded it onto my iPod and then put away the disc for safe keeping), but I recall when glancing the liner notes that Mark King wrote a lot more of it then I expected.

On STEWART's FB on September 16, 2017, someone posted in the comments section:

QUOTE

Had to laugh when I heard Zombies In The Mall, brilliant way to recycle "Blowhard" from Spyro the Dragon!

[To which STEWART replied:] Busted!
