Just bought a new car to drive to see The Police

Postby Divemistress of the Dark on 18 Mar 2007 02:46

OK, and for a few other reasons, I bought a new car...

but it'll be pretty sweet to have my spanking new Ford Escape Hybrid around to fourwheel through the grass at Bonnaroo.

It has no CDs in it yet, but what do you think I plan to put in the disc changer tomorrow? "All five Police albums" guesses don't count. ;)

You would laugh if I told you how many Ipods are in this house*, Mrs G. Let's just say hub and I are pretty big Macintosh-philes. ;)

I have a somewhat new car too......I bought a 2006 Scion Tc. I love that car!!! Gotta love the panaramic (spelling) roof!!!

Grrrrrr I can even sit and listen to a record of The Police without my mom driving me to wanting to pull my hair out from the roots. Argggggggg.

umm...there's like a chance hubby or I was pulled over by that very car...location University Park, PA...we were at Penn State for 6 years and I swear every time we drove on campus with anything out of order (tags one day expired, one light out, anything) we were the lucky winner...LOL...so I'd say good chance :P

Congrats on the new Bonnaroomobile, Dive! I vote Oysterhead and Rhythmatist!

All these years and a MacHead husband, and I still don't have an iPod. I think it's about time to remedy that.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I would love to know what kind of mileage you get with that, Dive. For my next car, which will probably be a long while since I just bought the one I have a year ago, I am debating either getting a diesel or a hybrid. Hopefully, there will be more diesels by then.

Oh, you betcha. We try not to be real snobs about Macintosh, but it's hard sometimes...

Hub reminds me I was a pain in the ass when we first got one - whining about using a new interface...but what can I say? Once you go Mac, you never go back. ;)

Conroy, I can tell you that just now on a trip from my mother's house I got 34.8 mpg on average. It's just unbelievable to me that an American carmaker conceived of this miraculous contraption. It's nearly as big as a large SUV but has plenty of torque, et. al...it's also got fun extras like a real, no kidding, 110 volt plug in the dashboard. You know, for your hair dryer. Or your portable thermonuclear charger or whatever. ;)

I had a cute VW Jetta that got great mileage as well, but the hybrid has nearly zero emissions...what can I say. I take this tree-hugging stuff pretty seriously.

Just reported in another thread that I've been looking all over for a Ghost in the Machine bumper sticker, and have about concluded I'm going to have to make my own using a scanner and the wonder that is www.makestickers.com. I think it'll be a nice christening, slapping on that sticker. Guess I could pour a bottle of beer or something over it...

That's called an Ipod Whore. You already have won, but just have to have all the others. Congrats on being a whore, lol. I would too, but can't afford it.
