Andy guest DJ on Sirius 1st Wave

Did anybody get a chance to tape this? Andy was a guest DJ on Sirius on July 4th. I was in the car on the way to rural Virginia at the time w/no real Internet connection or I'd have posted it. Got to listen for a while and he told some terrific bons mots (although the playlist itself was a little less experimental than I'd have liked… He did play almost the whole Circa Zero album.)

I realize this is a day late and a dollar short, but just thought I'd ask. Hope folks in the North are having a great summer, and the Aussies are hanging in there

I don't understand why it was not posted on the Circa Zero page or on their Twitter. They seemed to have just abruptly stopped updating their sites. I hope there nothing wrong. I think they were expected to hit the road for the summer.

Circa Zero seems to refer to their stage presence and chemistry...I think when they played Austin at SXSW they realized that...

Not a terrible CD but I would be surprised at a full tour

I like the record - not so convinced of their live presence.
However I need information about the Austin gig you mentioned.
I thought they cancelled that?
Or did it happen as announced on March 13 at The Palm Door on 6th?

...the cancelled gig was on March 12th at a club called Elysium [705 Red River St]...one of their only gigs up to that point...thus the 'presence' joke...get it?...oh never mind

Andy said in an interview that they cancelled the Austin festival show because they were offered to play around midnight at some rooftop bar.

Andy said he wanted to play on a regular stage, and to also present his documenary. It appears there was poor communication between the music people and the film people at the festival.

Too bad because I think this band has the potential to be a great live band. The problem is they've played only about a half-dozen full sets in more than one year. You cannot get great and tight by doing that.

Hard to know what's true anymore...it was advertised as an industry showcase with high level wristbands admitted first at the Elysium nightclub. Thats the $1500 level so I wasn't going either way...if I remember they were to go on at midnight (though the ad said 9pm) the 2nd of 3 bands...and Andy had made it clear there would be no Police performed.

That was all talked about the week before during the Interactive Festival...the cancellation was never announced locally to my knowledge (which is certainly not comprehensive)


EDIT: and I new nothing of the free show the next day at Palm...
