There was an Australian LP maker that used to make super limited runs of colored vinyl to celebrate the arrival of the Police down under. They are officially licensed by A&M so as you say, not fake.

Nice. So was this released around the time of the LP's original release or was this a reissue?

Festival Records in Australia, who packaged and distributed A&M Record's releases in Australia and New Zealand, would release custom colored vinyl pressings to promote the band's forthcoming tours. Outlandos on Blue, Zenyatta on Green etc. Rumor has it that the Festival Records pressing plant staff would mix up the colors to make unique pressings for future investment or just for fun and would sneak these pressings out of the plant without the clearance of quality control. They are rare indeed.
I hope this helps.

Gday All, i was the seller of this record. I actually lucked out and bought it from a guy from Sydney on Ebay who didnt realise just how rare the item was! I wasnt totally convinced that it wasnt a reissue until i received it and pulled 35 years of aged smelling vinyl from the sleeve. I would have loved to have kept it but i decided i could use it to fund my European trip later this year. it sold for just under $5000 Aus dollars and went to a collector in the UK to hang alongside his one-off Aussie Festival records red vinyl pressing of "Outlandos"

$5000 sounds a lot but it was a complete one-off, the only copy pressed.

Sheesh. It was pretty.

(sulking that this record producer didn't make fancy copies of any Paul Kelly, Hoodoo Gurus or Skyhook records… or did they?!)
