OT: Hall of Famers 2014: cast your vote!

OT: Hall of Famers 2014: cast your vote!

So Cleveland is doing a poll for next year nominees. http://www.rockhall.com/get-involved/interact/poll/

My choice are (in this very particular order):

YES
Deep Purple
Kiss
Cat Stevens
Peter Gabriel

Nothing against Nirvana, but first bands should go first.

For me above all others it is:

Link Wray
The Zombies

The list of nominees continues to highlight the joke of an organization the HOF has been and will continue to be based on some of the acts nominated but not yet mentioned in this thread.

I had assumed that Deep Purple was already in. I am not a huge metal fan, but Deep Purple is a major mover in the development of heavy metal.

I am pleased to see the Zombies on the list.

Still, as Conroy notes, it is rather a joke.

The 2014 inductees have been announced:
Cat Stevens
Hall and Oates
Nirvana
KISS
Linda Ronstandt
Peter Gabriel
Andrew Loog Odlham (Rolling Stones manager)
Brian Epstein (Betales manager)
The E Street Band

Not what I thought were the most appropriate choices. I can see KISS and Nirvana for thier influence on rock (not all positive).
