Stage show? What'll it be like?

Same here, Gina. I've never heard a term outside of the vernacular that had the same purpose. I still try to avoid having too much of a southern accent or anything. People can draw the wrong conclusions about you when you go abroad: it instantly makes you appear stupid in some circles.

I would probably find southern accents a great deal more quaint myself if i wasn't surrounded by so many thick ones!

Well, damn. I'm one more western. And it's plenty-o-y'all around here as well. ;)

(I hate it that a lot of people think we're all idiots around here. There are plenty of pockets of not-idiot in the south...)

I remember two years or three before I wrote a thread about a POLICE reunion concert... and I suggested they need to do it for fans and for lending an audiovisual documentary than other bands produced... you see videography of such bands like AC/DC, U2, Iron Maiden, etc., with lot of video concerts with the use of mechanic platfforms, giant wide screens, pyrothecnic effects, or movie cameras from air to crane cameras... as Sting said at Whiskey a Go Go Rehearsals the shows would be spectacular but simple with the three piece band...

I imagine in the background a mix of video or colorfull light effects that shows some POLICE trade marks like "Ghost Signals" or "Synchro paints"... also imagine them coming from down of the stage and some zenith lights to them like in "Don't stand so close 86" but with the first chords of De do do do 86 as Introduction sound loops...

I know THE POLICE don't need biggest machine toys like Iron Maiden, Ac/DC, Pink Floyd, or U2 used... THE POLICE are only three band mates and their music but the scene needs to be spectacular for this main and particular ocassion... so lets them to show to us what he wants to present in this mega tour... I dreamed for years!

Regards from Peru,

JOSE ;)

Ok folks!!
First a Synchro II stage (with synchro II or driven to Tears song) and after, with an instant (like David Copperfield) effect, the return to a normal stage....
For a multi-billion dollars tour it is the least one to do :D :D :D :D :D

I have a question...I don't really comprehend things on this scale (I think the scale of this Police tour is beyond comprehension, really) but who has what and how much of a hand in terms of what the *show* aspects of a mega-squillion tour? I would hope its completely within the band's purview but I didn't know if its more complex than that, anyone know?

I remember in 'bring on the night' that Miles didn't appreciate the stage...
