The footage of the people waiting at the doors of Palasport in Reggio Emilia were taken from the Tv news of the day of The Police concert on April 3rd 1980; for non-Italian speakers, the tracks IS about the Police show in Reggio Emilia:
I will soon discover if the footage taken from TELE REGGIO, the local tv from where it come from, do include something from the show, even if I doubt they could do it....but you never know...will let you know.

What, no footage of the riot police and tear gas canisters going off? The fans? broke through the metal gates covering some of the entrances and came storming in!

First of all, good to see Jeff back...

Yes, every time I read "Reggio Emilia" the words "riot" and "tear gas" come to my mind.
But also the other shows in Milano and Torino were full of energy.

...and full of tear gas as well...Milan was a very dangerous event, with the real Police attacking the fans...well, Italy was used to that sort of danger!
By the way, Jeff...none of you did any footage of those moments? No pics?
The first Italian tour has a very small coverage (just audio bootlegs and a few articles in the magazines)... no videos, no pics floating around beyond the ones published in the magazine... maybe some of your entourage has some shots taken that day...maybe you?

I may have many photos in the archives so I'll have to weed through hundreds of ANALOGUE prints and negatives.
The Reggio show was very chaotic, with gear being stolen and tear gas coming in through the windows etc. There wasn't much time for photography! LOL
