INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO:WHEN?

INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO:WHEN?

Postby roddswett on 25 Apr 2013 16:19

I am known for asking bothering question, technical stuff and other geek/nutter/drummer issues.
But why can't a nice, carefully done instructional video with Stewart himself devoting, performing, explaining and unraveling the mysteries of a life time of performances, be his next project?
Would be a nice crowning for an outstanding achievement as a drummer and a well disserved payback to demanding legions of fans and influenced drummers around the globe. I have plenty of ideas to share of what can be done with this kind of project and I am more than willing to share them with any producer, been myself a drummer, die hard Police fan, researcher and columnist and having studing SC drumming/rig for many years now.
Neil Peart did a good job with “taking center stage”, where Neil breaks down, demonstrates, and performs classic drum parts from songs spanning the entire Rush catalog, thereby giving the viewer the most in-depth insight into Neil s body of work ever documented (including a visit to the soundcheck, an unprecedented backstage interview, and Neil s warm-up routine). Neil then presents (in an interview setting with Hudson s Joe Bergamini) a detailed look at every single song. Each song features analysis and demonstrations (including slow- motion), which are coupled with a detailed PDF eBook containing transcriptions of Neil s parts. Could also include “drum play along” or “minus drums” real tracks from the Police, a la Jammit.
SC can do a much better job! I am willing to pay my airticket from Santiago to Los Angeles anytime to discuss the details with “anyone”. ;- ). No kidding, by the way.
Interested?

AMEN!

I can understand why Stewart would not want to do it, but it would be a big hit with drummers and fans.

If not Stewart, perhaps we could persuade Jeff to do one. He did put on a clinic that I would loved to have seen. He's well spoken and knows how to explain the rhythms Stewart plays, etc. Plus he knows a lot of behind the scenes stories.
