OT: RIP Peter Banks

For those who don't know, Peter Banks was the former and founding guitarist of YES, later replaced by Steve Howe, (just like Andy did with Henry). He played in the first two albums YES and Time and a Word.
Most recognizable guitar work:" Astral Traveler" and "No opportunity necessary; no experience needed".(check them out in youtube).
"I am these 2 very different guys: the composer is very sofisticated; the drummer ain't"

I liked the early Yes albums, they had a more jazzy quality. They became a different band with Howe and Rick Wakeman. Bill Bruford's book is humorous in his description of how they used to drive to gigs and who would show up the latest for rehearsal, etc. I can imagine certain members may have had a bit of an ego. They became more of a rock band (to me) when Bruford left and Alan White joined. I love White's playing, but Bruford is like a university professor on the drums. Apparently Steve Howe nixed the idea of having Banks join them for a few songs at one of their Reunion Tour shows; it was probably all he could do to tolerate Trevor Rabin's presence. I think Banks was there with his gear and didn't get to play.
