Whatcha readin'?
Have you read Christopher Hitchens' book God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything? Another brain melter.

I am slogging my way through Annals of the Former World by John McPhee but loving it. The rocks are laughing!
I very much want to read Hitchens' book, but I'm too busy with my course readings right now to take it on. (My present course is a hybrid psychology/theology course examining how the two fields can inform each other.) Perhaps I'll get the chance to read Hitchens in Juy when I'll not be teaching and I'll be between theology courses. It may be refreshing to read something from the other side of the argument (and something I won't have to write a paper on.)

Speaking of courses, Lynne, I wish I could take your environmental sustainability class. It sounds fascinating!

Conroy, I read that ages ago. That is some scary stuff she endured.

I just started the first Game of Thrones book. I like it, but, having watched the show, it kind of stinks that I already know what happens. Like the Harry Potter books, there is more detail in the books than they can show in the movie/show, so, I'm enjoying that. I intend to read past where the show is now. After that, my goal is to read the Hobbit before the part 1 movie comes out. I'm STOKED for that! Favorite book ever. Oh, yeah, Bilbo's sword is named Sting :-)

I just finished Wind Through The Keyhole (Stephen King ) and am saving In One Person (John Irving) for my vacation.

OK, I didn't read all of this read, not even tiny bits.
but here's what I love to read: locked room stories or other impossible crimes
John Dickson Carr / Carter Dickson, Clayton Rawson, Anthony Boucher, Ellery Queen,...
the best locked room stories seem like miracles

Sports pages and every word of the Kings Cup win coverage.
Usually in Los Angeles in June, all this town talks about is the Lakers, Lakers, and more Lakers.
Nice to see the LA Kings on the front page of the LA Times.

Currently reading The Tudors: The Complete Story of England's Most Notorious Dynasty by G. J. Meyer. After that, probably Amber, Furs and Cockleshells by Anne Mustoe.

I buy books like some women buy shoes. There's always an unread stack waiting on my nightstand.

I've recently finished the book "Nasher Says Relax" Nasher is the guitarist for Frankie Goes To Hollywood and it a tell all of the band and the crappy deal they had with ZTT a deal they still have to this day. 3 days before Nasher was to have his book launch they interfered and delayed his launch. Nasher writing style similar to Stewart's ...... and get this... he sometimes call this "peeps" "Nutters" This is his Amazon store where you can get his book autographed ....for us not in the uk you'll get an additional autograph on the customs declaration and its his "legal" name 8)

I really enjoyed reading his book

There is a story behind this but I think it's best to leave it up to your imagination ;-)

I've been rereading The Feast of All Saints by Anne Rice.

We should start a "Whatcha watchin" thread, I've discovered Downton Abbey recently and just love it!

Just been reading a very funny post Christmas present e-mail from LT.

Other than that I'm just about to start an Open University English degree course and all my books have arrived.

Gulp!

I'm starting with The Faber book of Beasts for no other reason than I like the title.

Love Goes To Buildings On Fire by Will Hermes, about the music scene in New York in the 70s. I highly recommend it.
