Stewart's notes for band names (1976)

I like Police the best ...

Maybe because it sits so beautifully in the drawing with the little stars.

The worst name on there is Teeth, and it's circled? I assume that means it was a true contender!

Well, hey there Mrs. Gradenko! It's been a long time since I've seen you around these parts. I guess you're finished school by now and all growed up like.
Yes, there seemed to be an odd teeth theme to many of those names. Were you hoping to make the big time in order to pay your dentist bill, Stewart?
There is also a heavy military theme in that list. I'm so glad you did not choose any of those names, Stewart. I can't imagine that back in the day I would have thrown my support behind a band with a name that alluded to dentistry. Maybe the military, but even that would be a hard sell. I honestly had enough trouble defending the name The Police back in my high school days.

Haven't quite graduated just yet... this Spring, I've been working my way through, so no debt! Yeah I'd say I've grown up a lot, I look back and realize how nice it was being a kid.

I guess they thought teeth sounded vicious? lol I'm sure there's a story behind the thought path there.

Think Lurex was meant to sound like Durex? I can't think that they wanted to be named after yarn.
