ltwoman and samburusunset friends this has been very bad storm and seems no end in sight. we are having another hot day today and with the storms to. i worry and pray for everyone through this whole time its not been safe for so many. ltwoman i worry for you since said you had to stay in bathroom for storm i hope you are ok

It's actually not hellish outside for the first time in weeks. It's a little cloudy but still no rain... went & washed my car and it's now sitting in the driveway to tempt the Weather Gods...

Just waiting to see what TS/Hurricane Isaac brings. The latest track shows it heading toward New Orleans (like they need that again). In my area we'll probably get a lot of rain and maybe some tornadoes. I'm hoping it won't be too bad here.

I read once that it hails like that when it is hot because the humidity in the warm air is very high and the warm air rises so fast and goes up so high to where the air is very cold. The moisture in the air then condenses rapidly, and the more humid the air, the larger the hail. The hail we see on the ground has fallen from extremley high altitudes.

At least that what I remember ...

p.s. Did you ever notice that the bottoms of clouds are all flat? They are puffy on the top and sides but invariably flat on the bottom....

lol kmart i have seen how a cloud is flat on the bottom and wondered why but i dont know why. we have a storm coming in and its humid today so i hope every think is safe for any one in hurricanes way

Isaac has moved further west than predicted, so there's not much going on here. Just some rain, maybe some storms tomorrow, but nothing major expected in Alabama. I just hope New Orleans and the MS/LA coast don't get destroyed again.

I almost got into a wreck yesterday, driving home looking up at the bottoms of those clouds...Thanks, kmart!

We didn't get any rain yesterday, but in Newport News (Bella?), 20 miles east,there were folks who were evacuated again: severe flooding from a storm that just trained over the area TWICE in the last 5 days.
