Yes! Back from London and the Ronnie Scott's show.
My oh my what a great show! Let me tell you: I don't like jazz. Not at all. I did hear and see all the songs they were gonna play on Youtube and I thought: oh well, this can be nice, it's doable.
But to see this show from the front row!! Wow.
Smudge, Samburasunset and I had seats on the front row. It was a really small club. The front row was 4 little tables each for 2 persons, pushed to the edge of the stage. We could lean our feet on the edge of the stage and if we would lean forward, we could actually touch Stewart's drums!
What energy and skills! Stanley is a very good bassplayer and it was fun watching him. His fingers danced over the strings. Perfect!
The guitarplayer and keyboardplayer were also very good (and very young!). "We call them the kids", Stewart said, "Bradley just turned 27, even younger than my youngest son". It was fun watching this guitarplayer, he was really into the music. Playing with his eyes closed and bwa-bwa-bwaïng with his mouth.
But, hey, I came for Stewart. I guess I just didn't bring enough eyes to see everything
Definitely a show to see more than once......
They had fun, were relaxed and enjoyed themselves.
Too bad we weren't allowed to make any photo's.
Samburasunset got a people-point right after the first song and Kate and I were so lucky to get home with a Vater (one landed right in front of my foot).
Perfect night! Great company! I wouldn't mind more weekends like this one
(and I didn't even mention the great pizza-floor-picknick at Dafttart's with Hannah, Smudge and Samburasunset)!
