Jesus, it's hot!

It's been between 100-105 F here the last few days, but it's supposed to cool down to the mid 90's next week. These temps aren't too unusual here, but it usually happens later in the summer. I'm a little afraid of what August may bring.

Issue here is that it's hardly rained for a month - and it was 107 here again today. We're going to start losing a lot of vegetation soon. Supposed to be "only" 99 by Thursday...

Expecting 101 today at 4 PM. The South suburbs of Chicago took quite a hit from a Derecho Friday night. My in-laws lost power from 9 PM Friday until 1 AM today (Monday). Live wires, toppled trees, the whole shebang. I want to grab one of these politicians who say global warming isn't real and force them to help with the cleanup.

It's been cool (right now 13C) and raining a lot. The grass is very green and lush. The air is fresh and smells nice.

There was no rain and the sun came out for Canada day.

Actually, my home was unaffected - just a lot of stuff knocked over like potted plants and patio chairs. I was playing a gig in Chicago when it all happened.
