Though I could never decide if I preferred the original release vs. the directors cut, personally. But some epic performances either way.

Its been awhile since I've seen either, but if my memory serves, I've always thought that the original release was waaayy superior. Isn't the director's cut the version that contains all the newly added footage that is not concert footage but kind of WTF space footage? Or am I thinking of something else?

ETA: Just watched the beginning of the clip. Yep. The director's cut does have that space footage. WTF is up with those first 4 minutes? Frankly, I am not sure if the rest of the film after that point is any better or worse than the original release. I just remember being jarred by that initial footage that the director's cut has always had a negative connotation in my mind.

Regardless, the performances themselves are fantastic as is the studio footage.
