OT: so many shows I want to see...

Some guys I work with got tickets for Rush. Their enthusiasm was a bit contagious and I'm going to wait and see.

Rush is really great live. They have such a sense of humor - I totally converted vespapod after we saw them a couple years ago in Atlantic City.

Yeah I saw them some years ago, probably 15 years or so, used to have friends who were seriously into them like we are with the Police. I might go again, will see what else comes up.

So, I saw Incubus last night. Weird venue/vibe as it was outdoors at an Indian casino in the middle of NOWHERE CA.

However, they were, as usual, great. I have to say this: IF you are a fan of Stewart's drumming, go see Incubus.

Jose Pasillas, their drummer, learned to play by listening to his favorite drummers and just trying to play like them.

I was at the Killing Joke show...amazing as usual!!! They still kick asses!

Bruce was unbelievable. Three hour show and he never took a break. Plus as we were taking our seats at 7:20, a good hour or so before he went on, he walked on stage with a big group of family member/friends taking pictures showing them the stage. There are no curtains so the crowd started going nuts when they realized it was him. He turned to the mike and said “Hey, I am just like you, I got relatives to.” They all took a group shot then he walked over picked up an acoustic guitar, went to the mike and with all the house lights on and the place half-filled at most, did “For You”. It was so surreal, it was like Bruce opening for Bruce! Fun moment in the show, Bruce was playing acoustic guitar and turned to Stevie and said his guitar was broken, that he didn’t know what to do. Bruce then called out his guitar tech to center stage and with a big grin and laughing congratulated him for “1,000 fucking shows”. Made me think of St. Jeff.
If you get a chance to see him on this tour GO. The energy level and the spirit of the band is off the charts.
Oh, and in LA we got Tom Morello guesting on numerous songs. I have never seen guitar playing like that. He’s unbelievable.

So I got some very last minute tickets for $40. It was well worth the money.

25 years ago I saw Pink Floyd (sans Waters) perform in BC Place stadium. Back then the sound quality was mediocre, even now with the new 500 million dollar roof, it didn't seem to make a hill of beans difference to overall sound improvement. Good thing it looks purdy, even when the roof leaks...for frack sakes. The floor seats were brutal, plastic ass-buster buckets, fortunately we had to stand for the entire show.

Despite the late start and the nearly nine dollar beers, Roger Waters delivered...and then some. The huge puppets, the sound effects and digital images are fracking phenomenal. This wall was 500 feet across and 40 feet high, it spanned the entire stadium. At the end of this week. when this two-year tour ends in Q-bec city, Waters' wall will be a whopping 800 feet long.

Waters has always had amazing musicians to accompany him, this time around was no exception. It was great to see G.E. Smith up there at the end of the night taking a bow, too. Catch this show while you can.

Oh, you were there as well.

Too bad that the sound was not so good for you on the foor. I was very high up and thought the sound was amazing. The roof looks sooo much better now.

I cannot fracking WAIT to see the show one more time next month in Philly. I went to 4 Wall shows in 2010 and they were all truly phenomenal. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest to say I really believe Roger has put together a stadium show/spectacular by which I will forever judge all others. To me it's the absolute perfect combination of spectacle AND musicianship, and I loved how he was able to take The Wall and show it to be as relevant today - if not more so - then when it was first written and performed 30 years ago. I'm just curious to see how it will compare in an outdoor arena vs. the indoor stadiums I saw it in before.

Sorry to gush on, but basically YES.
