Back in Marin, one of my many ex loves was a student for many years at the Ali Akbar Khan School of Music. He studied tabla drums. I love Northern Indian (as in India) classical music. Zakir Hussein was a common guest a/o performer/teacher at the school, and I had many wonderful encounters with him (and Ali Khan). It was so beautiful, the music, always...to me at least.
