OT- Reflections on being 50

i was going grey before i was 30....
and i've just realised, in my mid 30's, that no-one has said for a year or so "Oooh, you've gone grey young, haven't you?"

My students used to think I was in my 20s until my soul patch started giving me away...

My experience is that getting older is neutral. Pros and cons balance out. For example, my lower back and knees hurt when I pogo about at a gig but I no longer give a shit about how daft I look while doing so. It's rather liberating.

One of my friends turned 50 last year and she says the plus side is having neck joints too stiff to look over your shoulder in the mirror and see the size of your own arse. Every cloud has a silver lining.
