Happy belated birthday, Dive! have a terrific birthweekend.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Hey, thanks, folks! :D Guess it goes to show I had a full weekend, since I'm just now logging in and seeing this (and I got close to 100 happy-merry's on my FB page too...I must be doing something right to have all these awesome freinds...)

Went out of town Thursday night to see Nick Lowe - with a band, and it was maybe the closest taste to Rockpile the 21st century is ever gonna get, i.e. absolutely fantastic. Didn't get to stay long - had to get up early the next morning to get home for a hockey game, which regrettably the Preds lost.* Had a great meal beforehand at the fine-dining hall in the local arena (usually sports type dining involves hotdogs, but we're season ticket holders and have access to the members' club...it was raw-bar night with fresh oysters & lobster, which was great as I still eat a little seafood.)

It was sort of a bummer as well that Adam Yauch died on my actual birthday but the Star Wars thing offset it a little bit. Had a great dinner out last night with some family - got a fab new GPS unit for all the hiking I've been doing and some awesome houseware-type stuff...plus a little bird sent me a great CD set in the mail and I got a ton of cards...It was a great long weekend!

* I have to say it's looking like we're going to lose to Phoenix, but there are 29 teams who won't win the Stanley Cup this year and some quite deserving who are already out of it. The Preds aren't totally out - there are 20 teams that have come back from being down 3-1 but I have to say I don't think it's likely. Hey, the Kings/Caps/Flyers are still in it, so I've got folks to root for.

Sorry about the Preds. But feel free to jump on the Kings bandwagon, as many here in LA will probably do.
great to see them back in the Conference finals, waited NINETEEN years for it, and it's only the second time they have been in the Conference finals.
Have we got touchdown
