Howdy Y'all! Newbie here!

First, yes...I am the same Allegra over on the Police boards. As soon as I noticed that Stewart had his own, I had to come in and say HI!

Now you're thinking...what is this crazy U2 fan doing over here? Well, I just want to say that first I was a Police fan before I became a U2 fan.

I know Stewart's drumming style anywhere. I know it's Stewart as soon as I hear the drums because nobody plays like him! Watching him play is mesmerizing. I know what he plays is very technical and very smooth. Till this very day, I've never seen anyone play like him.

Stewart, if you are reading this, you are an awesome drummer! I bow to thee! And too, I like you...a lot....you make me laugh and giddy. You are as sweet as they come. I would love to give you a big kiss on the cheek. Yes, I like you that much! And thanks for making your movie. I got to see a side of you that I've never seen before. And thank you, thank you, thank you for getting back together with Sting and Andy!

Now I only have one question....will you be sporting your tube socks and your short shorts? :D

See you in Dallas!

Allegra

Hi Allegra, everyone is well friendly here!

PS: We have been campaigning for the shorts and tube socks but Stew is having none of it! He did threaten to wear a leotard though... (don't have nightmares!).

Aw, a lot of us are U2 people too. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful ;), but I saw the Joshua Tree tour back in 1987 (I've told this story so often it's got whiskers, but my folks wouldn't let me go the one time The Police played my town...Mom redeemed herself somewhat, though, by letting me cut school to take the bus to Kansas City for U2..)

Welcome!

We are planning a little pre-party before The Police concert in Dallas with all the Stewart fans that frequent this board and are seeing the show in Dallas.

Are you up for it?

We've got at least four, five people I can think of from here who are going to Dallas...I might go to both nights. I'm seriously considering it. Plus, that'll give me time to visit the fabulous Dallas Art Museum, that I haven't seen in years (do they still have that cool huge Claes Oldenburg sculpture...?)

Thanks y'all!

"We are planning a little pre-party before The Police concert in Dallas with all the Stewart fans that frequent this board and are seeing the show in Dallas. Are you up for it?"

I would love to! And I'm sure my friend Mary would love to meet as well.

Where and when?

"do they still have that cool huge Claes Oldenburg sculpture...?"

To be honest, I have no idea. Which sculpture are you talking about exactly?

And what's up with the quote boxes around here? They ain't workin'!

Allegra, what you wrote about U2/Police is very similarly to my experience. :)

The first contemporary rock album I bought was the first Police album. I was 14 and had listened mostly to the Beatles and Dylan up to then. The Police were my 'first love' and when they split up I discovered U2 but never 'forgot' Andy, Sting and Stewart.

Because I've been posting a few times I would also like to take the opportunity and say 'Hi!' to everyone here! Hope Allegra doesn't bother me using her thread.

Howdy Sun!

You are welcome here of course.

FYI - I'm half German. The German part of my family came to Texas around in 1837.

I too have noticed that there are a lot of U2/Police fans. It's sort of cool. This Police tour has given me something to look forward to, and it help kills a lot of the time that we spend waiting for U2 to come back.
