OT - RIP Dick Clark

I remember watching American Bandstand as a kid, when Barry Manilow did the theme song. Dick Clark always seemed ageless. It's hard to believe he was 82. He just seemed like a permanent presence on tv, like Johnny Carson or Walter Cronkite.

Ah, American Bandstand. That marks the beginning of my awakening...rock and roll!

I wondered what the Barry Manilow connection was because I'd heard his special statement last night and couldn't figure out why Barry Manilow. Interesting.

Rock and Roll Heaven. Dick will definately Rest In Peace now.

I never realized Barry Manilow sang the theme song. That guy did everything! He wrote commercials in the 70's, like the Band Aid "Stuck on You" song. He only has one Grammy - for Copacobana. That's just insane. But Jethro Tull has metal Grammy. Yeah, OK. He's NOT in the HOF, suprisingly. He's not exactly rock, but, the guy has talent.
