OT: WHAT'S IT DOING OUTSIDE??

More late night severe weather expected. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/graphicast.php?site=bmx&gc=3

It's been far too warm for February all day, and right now it's 71 degrees and I have my windows open (to my cats' delight). This means bad weather later. I'm trying to decide whether to try to catch some sleep now or wait it out. I'm not tired at all right now, so that probably means a sleepy day at work tomorrow.

Two of my favorite words:

SNOWFALL WARNING

Yes!

Gonna go to the mountain, strap my board on and shred the fresh pow! Abominable snow-wookie style!
I don't wanna work, I just wanna bang on the drums all day.

LV - I'll catch you on FB if we're up all night again (to the uninitiated: Luna and I only live three or four hours apart, so we're often joint insomniacs when the sirens are going off.) It's still pretty quiet up here, looks like the first round went north of us. But it's sticky nasty hot here too - we have the aircon on in Feb., never a good sign and I'd bet dollars to donuts means a 3 AM wakeup. Sigh.

Local weather guy says the worst is going south of here, but it's almost 1:30 am and still in the 70's. And I'm rationing my cigarettes in an effort to quit, so I only have four left until tomorrow. Why didn't I buy a pack of gum today? I might break out the cough drops if I'm up much longer.

Dive, did you escape the bullet also? I'm watching the (early) morning news and just seeing devistation... ya'll check in in the light of day.

I missed this thread when we had snow two Sundays in a row. Today it will be 76, the leftovers of your storm coming my way...

Nothing really bad hit here. (Until 7 AM when my sinuses turned to concrete and I had to get up.) Sigh.

You just have to get nervous, when you live in the South and it's unseasonably warm. Usually that means a cold front is coming in from the west and where it hits the warmer air - watch out.

Was just reading that 2011 was the worst/most expensive tornado season in history, and - oh yeah - they can't predict them, and they're more dangerous than hurricanes. Great.

I just realized I never checked back in after last night. Nothing happened near me. The severe weather was in South Alabama.

I feel like we should resurrect this thread: how's it going California? With all the tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires and miscellaneous weather events going on, we're going to get alot of use out of it this year. Safe travel to our folks in Dallas also.

[Besides, this is my favorite thread.]

I love this thread to. As the Mrs. tells me, I am obsessed with the weather.
No complaints in California, little bit of rain this week but it was 8o degrees on Easter!

**fingers crossed** for good weather this time for nutters going to Dallas.

Well? I got at least 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours (Virginia, although my rain guage says 4+). Anyone see snow? I hear there's snow up north!?
