My plan was to buy every single of the Police that was available, because I wanted to discover Shambelle, Landlord, Visions of the night and all that stuff that was not on any LP record and was not possible to get in my country Switzerland (of course there was no internet at that time). So I entered a Virgin store, looked at the price, made the conversion from Pounds to Swiss Francs and realize that I had not enough money. So for the entire month I spent in London I had only breakfast and skipped lunch and dinner for 30 days to save money for my records. I came back home with all those singles happy but very very hungry.
The second one was the same time the same place. I saw a huge poster of Sting on a wall in the street (advertisement for the single Love is the seventh wave). I had to have it. I waited midnight, got out with the knife, and cut delicately the sides and tore it in a hurry. All the time I looked back fearing that I won't be caught by ... the Police (I mean the real one)
And the third is when I crossed the Atlantic in November 2007 to see them in Atlanta for two shows(even if I saw them 5 times in Europe during that same tour) and flew back directly home after the second show. Everybody told me I was crazy to make such a long tripjust for them, but man it felt so good. I still now wear that smile on my face when I think about it.
