There is also "An Evening of Percussion"...Stewart will at the very least be in the audience...

Where: Caruth Auditorium - Owen Arts Center
Price: Free

Meadows Percussion Ensemble: An Evening of Percussion
Under the direction of Jon Lee, the Meadows Percussion Ensemble presents Stewart Copeland’s The Gene Pool, featuring guest percussionist/composer and SMU instructor John Bryant, and four pieces from Copeland’s Mikrokosmos for Percussion, including Dance Ants, Bears, Dog Dreams and Tonga Toys. Copeland, founder of renowned rock group The Police and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will be in the audience for the performance as part of his three-day residency at the Meadows School, April 11-13. Also featured on the program will be Steve Reich’s newest work for percussion, Mallet Quartet, as well as Killing Horizon by Meadows alum Lane Harder and a piece by noted hand-drummer Jamal Mohamed.

Now that it is only a few weeks out that this was uncovered and it's the week of Easter, airfare is prohibitively expen$ive :(

Ah hell, that's only two weeks away. I'd be up for another long drive, but not sure if I can get time off work and a hotel on short notice. Hmmm, maybe.

I will be there.

I got the week off from work, so I can attend the percussion performance and Stewart's talk. Another really long drive there and back, but no blizzard this time, so I'll get to do the sightseeing I missed last year.

Is anyone else going?

My friend Rhonda/REudaly lives in the area and reserved tickets...some of you met her in Dallas back in '07 so I expect full reports back!

Excellent, Gina! So wish I could be there again with you, but given the short notice, there is no way I can take another flight of fancy to Dallas. I'll have to be content with living vicariously through you. I expect a full report! Who's gonna join luna? Thedaner?
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.
