Welcome, ladyhawke. Put you, 63falcon and me together, and we'd make one spiffy Venn diagram.

"I've been "sockii" in fandom circules for a good, oh...15 years or so at this point. Working at a lot of sci-fi/media conventions and such--before it was really an issue of having an "internet handle"--I just found it helpful to have a badge/fannish name that folks could remember me by. So I went for an obscure reference to my first ever fandom and it's stuck since then. I just changed up the spelling a bit to make it more unique.

And for those who want the *precise* origin, well...

I lifted this from another thread...might provide the answer. I think I know...

I guess that didn't make any sense so I hope my edit clarifies it. The quote was from sockii about how she chose her user name. I just copied and pasted it here and the youtube explains where she got it from. There's another post I didn't find yet about the same thing.

LOL, thanks! Yes, it pretty much nails it. I love sake, and Murdock was my hero as a child (especially Captain Cab and Socky), hence sockii was born about 18 years ago. Oh god I feel old.

ladyhawke wrote:hi everyone. I am new to the forum and very excited. I went to the POlice concert in Orland Florida and it was one of my best times ever, outside of my children being born. I have only seen a few concerts and that was a really good one. I also like Celine Dion and James Taylor. I like movies also, Ladyhawke is my favorite. I hope I to get to know people here. thank you

I like your taste in music Ladyhawke. Here in Montreal most of the people don't like Celine Dion in fact they make fun of her. what other concerts have you seen?
