The closest thing I've done to trying to keeping in shape is I've stopped deep frying my Twinkies.

My passion is cycling, and I do triathlon, so I also run, swim, do yoga, strength training. I think the key is to find an activity or sport that you enjoy, rather than just doing 30 minutes on the elliptical to get it out of the way, and to have some variety, so that you keep your body and mind flexible.

Do you remember Stewart practicing with some light weights at "Police Around the world"? I am totally sure Stewart in totally energetic, for being a horse rider at "Polo Team" I think he train well...Also some day I discover in google an article about a cardio vibratrion machine used by "The Police" during the tourzilla.. it is the pic of a machine similar than The Police used during the reunion tour:

Mine, I am also a bodybuilding IFBB certified trainer, so I used to training with weights (not for being a Scharzenneger Gobernator) and running into a big circuit in the district I live ( it is well known in Lima that my district -"San Borja"- promote outdoor sports and health living, on the other side by my profession I was the former tv producer of a popular peruvian doctor that promotes medical prevention, alternative medicine, vegetarianism, and healthy nutrition... in that way I train 4 to 5 days a week (around 45min and 1 hour in the gym), running 4.6 km around 25min per day, and have a diet basically with organic food and balanced in 4 to 5 meals per day (3 principal meals and 2 tiny meals) I avoid junk food, bad fat, pork products like hot dogs, etc., butter, alcohol, candies, chocolates, cigarettes, soda, lot of sugar or industrial juice and energetic beverages... and the main tried to avoid stress and bad humor 8)

You guys are making me feel like a couch potato! I need to dust off my stationary bike (which is mostly functioning as a clothes hanger these days). My main health focus right now is quitting smoking, but I'll need to step up the exercise to avoid weight gain once that appetite suppressant is gone.

I try to hike at least two or three miles every couple days. Really clears the cobwebs, you know? Today's was really nice, tho my sinuses have been killing me....(oh goody: Tornadoes AND sneezing. Good thing springtime in the South is just beautiful or I'd be downright surly :D)

Another advocate of walking here. Alex, I don't know what you do day to day. If you're an office monkey like me I recommend a bit of walking briskly 'round the block in whatever sort of lunchbreak you can wheedle out of 'the man' :-) That in addition to whatever else you fancy doing to get the ol' body functioning. The 'lunchtime march' (my colleagues' terminology) seems to have several benefits: (a) my lower back doesn't hate me by 5.30pm (b) I'm less likely to want to strangle said colleagues in the afternoon (c) I crave healthy things to eat for lunch when I'm done stomping around for a mile or two, rather than chips (fries).

I used to run a lot, but my knees don't like that any more: whatever you do, take care of your joints!

Thanks for all the replies, seems like a lot of people really work hard to take care of themselves, and that's awesome. As the weather gets better I'll incorporate some walking as well. I just graduated from long slow cardio on my recumbant bike to a crazy 20 minute HIIT program (high intensity interval training) It's 20 minutes, and when I finished I was so drenched and cramped up that I had to stand outside for another 10 minutes, hence the cold I'm now dealing with. This program changes every minute for the full 20. I'm at level 3,4,5,6,3 for the first 10 minutes. Then 4,5,6,7,4 then 5,6,7,8,3 for the last five. I'm cramping just thinking about it

If I could look like Gio, I'd eat cake all day long. Wait, I pretty much do that anyway.
