JB2 & NYC: Memoirs of a Flag Wookie

My memories of JB2 basically involve rocking out Sally with Divemistress, Conroy and Sally after midnight bacon, and Sting munching on one of our drug tore CHA!balls. I still have one of those in my office.

Not about this, T. Vital and necessary reporting from a lovable point of view. What's not to praise?

isn't it great that all this is so well documented ??
you forget stuff, but it all comes back with these stories
and these great photos
my favourite one is the one with Conroy, Tamadude and the Drivemistress (that's my spelling)
because all the faces show how tired we were from grinning all the time !!

What a great story! Tamadude you sound like a great guy and your story made me feel like I was part of it...thanks. I know I joined the forum after the tour, but it SO COOL that you guys had these wonderful experiences. Those memories last a lifetime. It made me happy to read your story, and a little sad too....I miss that year and a half. Figuring out what shows I could see, traveling with friends, and watching in awe those guys make the most fantastic music ever! Sitting around afterwards and talking about what changed since the last show, our favorite songs, what I wish they would have played.... My favorite band for my entire life had gotten back together and I could experienced that joy throughout 2 summers! I fell in love with the Police all over again and that has yet to go away.

It was a blast! I wish it would happen again so I could experience it with some of you. It was a crazy ride and I wonder sometimes if they realize how much joy they gave to people and the good vibes/karma they generated those two summers.

I go to Sting concerts (wouldn't miss one) but it is not the same. Theyre great..but I miss the boys. I think thats why I talk so often about another tour. I'm greedy like that.
Stay ready...to cut and run.

Thanks kmart! It was all very surreal. An expensive couple of years, but worth it. I went "all in" because I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Glad I did.

Like Dietmar said, it's great to have these threads to bring us back to that amazing time.

Cheers

I'm starting to feel like I'm having a stroke, like my life is flashing before my eyes.

ETA: BUT I love Tama's (and everyone's) stories.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Loving your pictures and first person account Tamadude. Thanks for sharing :-)

Sooooo wish I would have been able to go to Jones Beach. If we only had known there was going to be a second leg there are a couple of shows I wouldn't have gone to the previous September and would have been able to take the time in August '08. I even had a 2nd row ticket for JB2. D'oh!

But, I think I was seriously running the risk of being killed by co-workers or getting fired. And, it's not like I didn't go to plenty of shows as it was.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!
