For all our female drummers out there, go win some stuff!

"Aiming to seek, support and celebrate the impact of female drummers, Hit Like A Girl 2012 is the first ever drumming contest for girls and women— sponsored by leading drum equipment companies Crush, TRX, Vater, Evans, and SKB, along with major drum media companies, including Tom-Tom: The Magazine for Female Drummers, DRUM!, and others."

I don't suppose that me looking pretty behind my "chariot" and holding my Vater sticks would count as a serious entry, huh?

Tamadude,

You honor us Tamamamas by thinking of us. As much as my ego loves the idea of it, my chops are not "there" yet. I still love to play and refuse to give up my drum room, though it would make a brilliant home office if I wasn't too stubborn to give up the space.

I think the nearest to "ready" is Lynne or Gina. Or, maybe Sockii. Whaddaya think ladies?

ETA: Smallish soapbox, totally not directed at you Tamadude. I don't know why women need their own contest. I don't think the gear cares what sex is hitting it.

What a stunning "family" portrait we would make!

Thanks for including me in your lineup, Tamadude! That's the prize, methinks!

Go for it, redneckpride! We need someone to represent the Nutters Ladies Auxillary...or would that be Nutters Ladies Battery?

I'm afraid I'm way too out of practice at the moment myself to go for it...

Tamadude, you flatter me 8) . My chops are not quite there yet either; I've been inconsistent in my practice since my proto-punk ensemble class live gig, where the highlight for me was playing Iggy Pop "Lust for Life" to a bar full of folks. Have to get back into consistent practice!

redneckpride, you should totally go for it!
