Does anyone know what happens if you bring in a camera when
the ticket itself specifically says NO CAMERAS?

If the venue is die-hard about it, confiscation. If they're really die-hard about it, good luck getting it back again. And if they're really evil about it, they'll bar you from entry.

What about cell phones that have cameras? Most do now - they wouldn't take your phone away, would they?

I was wondering that myself, Donna.

Considering how prevalent camera phones are, I doubt that they can really do much about them. Seems unlikely they could confiscate thousands of phones -- that's like chaos waiting to happen.

I'd just be damn careful with regular cameras. All depends on the venue and the guards themselves. I've seen people get away with murder; I've also seem some damn scary security guards go to town over contraband.

My personal guideline is to assume everything will be confiscated and just consider it all disposable. (E.g., I don't mind losing a disposable camera or a bottle of water; I do mind losing a digital camera or a super thermos.) And to never underestimate what can fit inside a bra.
