BLOTTO MONDO

I finally submitted my report cards today, which allowed me time to view and savour this most excellent video. Thanks Stewart. Here's my report on your latest effort.

"Stewart plays very nicely with all his friends and always shares his toys with others. He consistently puts forth an outstanding effort when engaged in group work and produces materials with a high level of effectiveness. Stewart is encouraged to continue working and playing diligently at the Sacred Grove Academy of Musical Outrageousness and to continue posting the results to the delight of Nutters everywhere.
*Progressing very well towards a tour and/or commercial recording release
A+ (100%)

For about the first 20 seconds of my first viewing of this video, I was fascinated by Stewart's strange new drum in front of his kit. It looked like some sort of giant blue plastic affair. I was seriously wondering what sort of sound it would produce and hoping Stewart would play it in the clip, that is, until I realized it was the cap of a water bottle in the foreground. D'oh!

With regards to Blotto and Mondo, in Torontonian parlance of a certain era (the 80's of course), blotto meant much the same as smax's understanding of the term...drunk, but hilariously, not menacingly. And for a short time any way amongst my friends mondo used to mean excellent. Of course, mondo also refers to the world. Thus, through his title, Stewart is telling us in a cryptic manner that he is about to embark on a World Tour that will make us all drunk with joy. (I firmly ascribe to the wish-it-hard-enough-and-it-will-happen school of thought.)

Thanks again Stewart et al.

Thanks for the kind words regarding my writing, Jemma & LT. But don't encourage me too much. Other dinosaurs around here will confirm that I can get frightfully verbose with just a little encouragement, and even less than a little alcohol.

[quote="STEWART"]Another crazy jam at the Grove. In all of the hilarity it was hard to find two consecutive bars that matched but once I start carving I will not give up until I have a track. Matt is pretty useful on drums too.

Outstanding! Looks like the Hammond has made itself at home! I'd hate to be they guy who drew the short straw and has to schlep it to the gig!

Thanks for another fun one, Stewart!

P.S.

These aren't the droids you're looking for.
You will bring Captain Solo and the Wookie to me.
You will record and tour with Oysterhead in 2012.
