Cherry Vanilla's book "Lick Me"

Postby kmart on 11 Jan 2012 12:52

I had bought and read Cherry Vanilla's book " Lick Me" some time ago (when it first came out) and just recently picked it up again. I bought it because The Police toured with her and were her backup band for awhile, as Im sure you all know. Has anyone else read it? I thought there would be more stuff on the Police and their early years, but there was no more than about 3 pages tops about the boys.

There was alot about David Bowie (man she spent his money!, Its no wonder he fired her!) and I thought overall it was an interesting read about a girl coming of age in the hippie scene.

What did you guys think?
Stay ready...to cut and run.

haven't read the book... but i recall a an old piccie with cherry legs akimbo in front of the camera with her 'lick me' t-shirt on with a bemused / disgusted gordo in the background... you can almost see him thinking " maaan, i wanna be out of this dirty scene, the things we have to do......."

I only read the Police parts. I expected even less pages. So I'm please with what's there... she has her reservations as Sting and Stewart tried to steal her boyfriend guitarist. But the memories in that book are just kind, if I'm not mistaken.
