I dunno. Sting has pretty definitively ruled out any future reunion.

The Guitar International interview that this "new" news is based on seems to be well over a year old too...

If only........
I would really love for AndyS to have a nice Tourzillette of his own, w/ all the great solo work in his quiver. Maybe even have a few shows w/ Ben Verdery, magic! And a StewartHimself, by himself tour, there's so much there.
Then another reunion, possibly. After these 2 get there Day on stage. That's the New Year Wish from me, for Andy and for Stewart. SOLO TOURS!

There's plenty of old unfinished (my interpretation of that really being "unreleased") business out there that needs to get the respect they deserve such as a release of the US festival or properly released digitally for the first time such as the Police Around the World/Police in the East. If Sting is going to continually live in the past now in his solo career, at least he should let some of his non-solo Police fans have something to enjoy as well to line his pockets and help adorn his ivory towers. I will be horrified if the only thing we got as a souvenir of Tourzilla is "Certifiable" and I refuse to give him any money for any of his overpriced solo projects and shows until he stops being a twat about such things.

Bwahahahahahaha Con!

I'm with you there. I'd like to see PAW on DVD or Blu-Ray. That's an AWESOME movie and got me thru the loooooong Police drought many a time. "Loaded and ready for action..." 8)

I certainly wouldn't attend a cookie cutter remake of the reunion tour with the same ardour.
1) I don't have the dough for it and B) it would suck balls to hear the same thing all the time.

I suggested a B-Sides tour over on Fbook. We need to hear rare gems and it wouldn't bother me IN THE LEAST if I didn't hear anything off of SYNCHRONICITY. Or I'd go if they did something like play an album in full and then throw in some of their greatest hits at the end. That's what other bands are doing. Maybe there's something to that formula, eh?

Of course, I wouldn't mind a bit if Andy and Stewart found themselves a slammin' bass player and vocalist and went out on their own! If Sting can go out and play Police material why couldn't they?
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

this is the crummy reality of it - the police's popularity is tied to big spending fans/promoters who want the exact opposite of what most of us want to hear: big hits and singles. i'd love to see the band take the approach of the whiskey announcement/"gig", which was the loosest, most "real" moment of 2007-2008, but i know that isn't going to happen. the band played the same tightly rehearsed and coreographed set after the first couple weeks of the synchronicity tour for the *entire* stretch, and then, 23 years later, did the exact same thing. as long as sting and his management are in charge, nothing will change, and as samburu said, i'd rather see the band mothballed than sit through a repeat of tourzilla.

it makes me sad to say it, but the police ceased being "fan-friendly" a long time ago. it would take a sea change of monumental proportions for the band to do anything other than repeat 07-08. a b-sides tour, a fluid setlist, odd stewart/andy songs thrown in - in other words, the things hardcore fans would love the most - are pure fantasy. sting is a control freak, a dick, and completely out of ideas.

Andy's such a tease lol.

And Sting: a recent quote on rollingstone.com about the Rolling Stones proposed tour next year had me chuckling. He has claimed in the past to not be "nostalgic." In this article he said it would be great if they did something if only to relive their past. Hmmm, funny how he's "nostalgic" about other bands, but not his own.

I was reading this interview and the comments at the bottom...most of which I thought were spot on...then I saw it.... a link to another artcile...this one entitled "10 things you may not know about Stewart Copeland"....WHA??????
What could this be? What secrets? Does he wear the t-shirts that Jemma Belinda makes? Does he secretly go on this website disguised as "REDNECK PRIDE???" does he still wear the tube socks and short shorts around the house? What could it be????

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/10-thing ... -copeland/

So heres the link....there was NOTHING there that I didn't already know for 1000 years.

But it got me thinking...I have always liked Soclii quizes...Maybe its time for another fun quiz?

Kmart.....PS Happy New Year to all my nutter friends!!!!
