They could hire Terry Kiser to play the Equalizer for all I care as long as it means we'll finally get the entire series collected on Blu-Ray or DVD. For me, there will only be one Equalizer: the late Edward Woodward. However, I think having a big Hollywood actor as the star is a big mistake. They should go with a lesser known but talented actor like Woodward was. Anyway, I probably won't waste my time or money on any other Equalizer unless they get Stewart to do the score or if Joel Surnow is involved.

Have any of you been watching the new show Person of Interest? The premise kind of reminds me of the Equalizer. It stars Michael Emerson, the guy from Lost.

100% agreed. I really, really end up hating most Hollywood "updates" of television shows...even when they do a "good" job, it so rarely captures the original spirit and what made the original so good.

Denzel is a fine actor, but he's not the Equalizer. And that show was such a part of its decade - the music, the atmosphere, the vigilante-justice hero, cold war politics, gritty New York City - I just don't see it having any of the same spirit if set in today's time.
