What a great thread. I love seeing what people are up to lately.
Me, I have a new day job, and while I do like the job most of the time, the commute (1 1/2 hours one-way) is a drain. With that plus occasional freelance work, personal creative pursuits (and forum reading) have had to take a backburner for a while; but alas, we do what we've got to do. Fortunately both my day job and freelance work involve creativity, so I like to think it keeps that artsy half of my brain from turning to oatmeal.
I've also started, completed a year of, and quit a graduate degree, and man, I am so glad I learned what I did, and I am so glad I decided it wasn't worth continuing. Sometimes even a nearly free education isn't as important as time.
BTW, if anyone's got a spare nice (even rent-controlled) 2-BR within a short commute to downtown NYC, pleeeease give me a call.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
