Great idea for a thread, Gio. It seems everybody has been so busy lately that we do need to do a little catching up. Your projects sound exciting and good nourishment for your creative soul.

No marriages, divorces or new children for me. I'm still teaching French at the same school but mainly to the real young ones this year. (6, 7 and 8 year olds...Too young for the corrupting influences of "Le drapeau vert")
My kids are all fine and growing up. My Dad just celebrated his 90th birthday and still has more energy than me most days.
The thing that is keeping me really busy is my new academic pursuit. This September, I started working part time on a Master of Theology degree, one course at a time. The course I'm taking and loving right now is about the Old Testament. I only mention this because Stewart listed Old Testament interpretation as one of his passions in the bio notes in the Dallas D'Drum program. (He also mentioned this hobby a few times in interviews.) I think it's kind of weird that Stewart and I share an interest in something that makes most people's eyes glaze over. (But seriously, Stewart, doesn't Second Isaiah rock?)

Therese, bienvenue! Il y a plusieurs personnes ici qui parlent francais. Ca me fait toujours plaisir de communiquer en francais. (Meme si je ne peux pas ecrire des accents sur ce vieil ordinateur!) J'espere de te parler souvent.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Old Testament is totally cool-I never can get enough of Ecclesiastes, and some of the minor prophets-really enjoy comparing how events are recorded from slightly different angles in I & II Kings and in I & II Chronicles....I can HEAR eyes actually glazing over, sorry, just didn't expect to see a post like this on here.....
Hmmm, VERY busy in Fall as usual at my PT outdoor outfitter job (brand new owners, very nice, but lots of little changes that are hard for some of my FT co-workers to adapt to), working a few extra hours at my PT Library job, a lttle extra $$ for my yearly Big Trip to Home to Virginia for Thanksgiving week. My boyfriend and I got to get out hiking one Saturday, beautiful and a side trip to the Amish store on the way-lot's of great bulk foods, home baked goods, and fresh grown vegetables. Also, he and I are going to attend the movie version of Rush's Time Machine Tour at one of the Cinema's in a Cincinnati suburb (its at the West Chester Rave, drummike! A week from today/27Oct. 2011, 8:30pm, $11). But I really am looking forward to being back in Virginia in November-that's the big highlight! The extended Southern side of the Family in Durham (NC) for the Turkey Day, and we always go for a big hike afterwards, such a blessing to get to see everyone!
Oh, and yes, ltwoman, I will also be frantically "Nutter Carding" during that time too, not to worry!

Salut, Therese! C'est vrai; le livre de Stewart n'est pas sorti en francais. Mais on a produit une traduction italienne recemment. Peut-etre on publiera une edition francaise bientot.

63falcon, I sense a OT smackdown thread coming down the pipe soon--something similar to the Pre-colonial Americas thread we had here a while ago.

The Italian version is the only one existing beyond the original in English at the moment.
I do remind you that there is a 7cd box audiobook that I do suggest to each one of you, read by Stewart himself!

Last weekend I took my daughter and two of her friends on a little trip.

I was hoping I would run into Stewart, but I did NOT.

Still, we had lots of fun.

Hey everyone, what a great thread - so nice for me to catch up with everyone.

I havent been around in nutterland for some months, I just couldn't get on the forum and kinda gave up and got out of the habit. But I decided today to check you all out again, try my log in and hey presto - it worked! Must have been karma :) good karma :)

I'm re-applying for my job which is shit, and stressful so I wont talk too much about that. O/H's dad has cancer which is worse shit and stressful so I wont talk much about that. But otherwise the rest of us are healthy and happy, I'm just back from walking the dog down on the beach in the moonlight and I'm now baking a Victoria Sponge whilst listening to Synchronicity and drinking a cool glass of Pinot.

So lifes not all that bad :)

Mostly I am embroiled in family and career -- happily and steadily. But, every now and then I get to sneak out and have a little musical fun like this... http://vimeo.com/30875616
