I will have to try out some 13's some day...
Oh yeah! So here's the story:
One of my neighbors found out how big a fan I was of The Police. They had just redone their kitchen and invited us over, and he tells me he has something for me. We go over and he tells me this story of how his dad was a pilot for Delta, and as a kid he basically got 1st class free flights anytime/anywhere, and thus traveled alot. Back in the early 80's (couldn't remember when) he happened to be sitting next to this British guy in 1st class, and he had this jacket with all sorts of patches and pins and stuff all over it, and said he was the tour manager (or a part of the tour) and was flying back home after wrapping up the tour. He then gave my neighbor (probably 12 or so at the time) the gold badge off his jacket, and told him it was the tour groups' all access pass. My neighbor of course was ecstatic, had it boxed away all these years and when he found out about my love for the band, found the badge and was just thrilled to give it to me as he knew how much I'd appreciate it.
I took his story with a grain of salt, as I have a Synchroncity all access pass from when my parents went and met the band back in 83, and it's of course nothing like this badge. But this could just be because what I have is for guests and not necessarily wat may have actually been used by the people running the Synch tour. I vaguely remembered the badges, but had no idea if they were truly for the tour group, or just a chotchke for sale. I had a brief moment thinking I stumbled upon something with a unique history, but common sense (and Dietmar's crushing response!) brought me back to reality. Regardless, the thing is pretty damn cool! Not sure why mine is all gold/brass and not silver like what's been mentioned. I'll take a pic and will post later!
