At least he seems to have written some new music.

I'm trying really, really hard to be open minded and not cynical, but I think I'm going to hate this character, Gideon. With my apologies to Gordons everywhere, the one line in the article I loved was when the writer referred to Sting's real name as "the unfortunate Gordon".
I'm glad to hear Sting has been writing something new. I wish him the best and really hope this doesn't suck.
(Yeah, I have some work to do on this new cynicism free attitude of mine.)

'Write about what you know.' That's axiomatic, right? Given that, and a starting point of The Soul Cages, I'm thrilled about this.

(No, I'm not being sarcastic.)

hmmmmmm.

when i first heard about Symphonicity (lordy how i hate that name) i had fears of a Rod-Stewart-esque faux-brat-pack-mack-the-bleedin'-knife Crooner set....

when i first heard about this i was dreading a we-will-rock-you travesty but again i'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

although he's (presumerably) being advised to do certain things on promises of milking it (can't be for credibility and spare me the bullshit about artistic freedom; if he'd written a new album he'd be touring that), seems that gordo will still try to avoid being led down those roads with the corporate cock in his hand like some kind of dried-up horny leader of the herd. He's under offer but hasn't quite sold out yet.

tho can we take bets on when he'll take up his vegas residency?

Smax, OUCH, lol!

I have to say, if it's from the heart and Soul Cages-esque... My curiosity will be piqued. I like to think I have an open mind.

But, at this point, even though he's one of the people I most respect and admire, I have no problem calling BS when warranted, so if it stinks I'll say so. I have issues with blind faith, lol. That is why I put my foot down and did not participate in Symphonicity and will not buy the box set. Enough nostalgia already. BTDT... It was great, but what's next? If this is it, I'm open to checking it out.
yo!!
