What is all this talk of a 'Stewart Copeland Original'?

I don't understand - every time he plays he's original!

Man, look at how much fun he's having! Stewart never looked that happy playing drums in the '80's, intense young man he was. What a joyful performance, i'm thrilled to see and hear how incredibly idiosyncratic copeland's playing remains. really love hearing those amazing Copelandisms so many years after he patented them, in a new performance. Loved watching that. Thank god at least one member of our favourite band is still a big kid. Frickin' awesome.

BABA and Mrs. BABA were seated on the floor, center section, towards the rear. Plan A for getting tickets (entering a lottery through the in-person request system) dragged on for several nervous days and ultimately failed, Plan B (begging and pleading with a page in the lobby just before the box office closed) also failed, but Plan C (the same-day phone-in stand-by system) miraculously worked. Nevertheless, we didn't know whether we would make it inside until about an hour before taping. The process of getting tickets was an exhausting adventure in itself and yet another lesson to never quit.

To expand just a little on sockii's notes, once enthroned Stewart quickly joined in on the band's "Synchronicity II" during the commercial break (not seen but clearly heard on the broadcast), then played "Birds of Prey", and then joined in while the band closed out with the Late Show theme (not seen and tough to hear on the broadcast). Despite any reservations that he may have had about performing a solo, he clearly enjoyed himself and played at every opportunity. So I suppose that all we need to do to lure him out into playing more often in public is to present more tasty opportunities.

I'd love to hear everything he played; even the intros and outros. Perhaps there was a surreptitious mike present.

I commented to the other nutters that they need to post behind-the-scenes videos for each episode like when they rolled out the chariot and when Stewart ran out to join in on Synchronicity II. No attempt was made to propogate the plague as the security at the Late Show puts the TSA to shame.

It was great meeting up with all the nutters who attended and the unfortunate ones who did not. We had a fun get together after the show at a Pub that is frequented by various Late Show crew. We imbided in some food and drink while sharing some stories about the day's events and the show itself. I will write a short description of how that Honey Maple Kit was assembled from various sources after some sleep! "yawn" Hopefully, Irene won't leave me powerless to do so!

It was real purty. Of course, being the Nutter geeks we are, we got all excited and WOOOOOO'd when they raised the scrim and pulled aside the scenery to reveal it. It was all shiny with that fab Rhythmatist logo on the bass drum head.

(I found that it's really hard not to WOOOOOOO when they say you can't .....darn mics)
