I felt my office chair and desk swaying ever so gently in Connecticut. Felt like I was on a boat... weird! Glad everyone is safe.

Apparently it reached way down here too: http://www.alabamawx.com/?p=52077

"The quake was felt in parts of Alabama… we had reports of the quake being felt in places like Jacksonville, Inverness, and Montgomery."

Nothing happened in my area, as far as I know.

We had the Plague of Locusts this summer-- seriously. But it's Irene we're waiting for now. I'll be switching over the the What's It Doing Outside thread soon, I guess. Ugh.

You think you have one set of problems and then, damn, an earthquake comes along. I hate when that happens.

Earthquake in the US...sounds strange, uh? Well, I'm glad no-one got hurt; I have experienced a few earthquakes and I know it IS scary, as you can't do anything about and that weird sound around you seems to never stop...a few seconds seem longer than usual.
Never experienced a strong earthquake anyway.
