OTish - ELTSDIM cover by Costello

OTish - ELTSDIM cover by Costello

This is an audience recorded outtake from Elvis Costello's Spectacle show featuring the Police that was taped on August 6, 2008, the day after Jones Beach 2 and the day before the Last Goodbye. The taping of this show (not of the clip below) is chronicled in the Wookie's epic post.

For now, I will keep the identity of the taper anonymous. If the taper sees this and does not want this track shared, please contact me and I will Luann this (when was the last time anyone made a reference to the Queen of Parma Hams?). Otherwise, I did not think he would mind my sharing this one track, as he's a pretty nice guy.

The quality is not the greatest, but I think it is certainly very listenable. ENJOY!

Got myself some 3rd row tix for Elvis at the Ryman in a few weeks and I'm already all googly with excitement. (Gonna get to see Nick Lowe this weekend also...it's been a real concert bonanza here lately...)

Thanks for the post on this, and to those who recorded it. Loves me some Declan however I can get it.

You are in for a real treat, Dive. I've been following EC closely this tour and his setlists have been outstanding. He has played over 100 different songs this tour with lots of interesting covers and rarities.

I saw EC's show in Toronto in June. It's amazing. If I had endless funds, I'd follow this tour around all summer as every night the set list is different. And it is completely rockin'. By the end of the concert, my 12 year old son and I were exhausted, but Elvis looked like he could have played for another 2 hours. You are in for a real treat, Dive & Indy.
Thanks for the musical find, EQ & mystery taper.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Saw Nick Lowe today (what a tale - check my FB for the details) and while waiting in line got talking to another Elvis fan. The thought is that it's not actually a random selection (Spinning Songbook) but it'll be fun to find out!
